In 2016, we were selected by Lancaster City Council to assess the options and outcomes for the redesign of its museums service. The work involved taking a strategic long-term view of the use of the District's cultural and heritage assets, estates and collections, their funding, investment and income, governance and management and producing a sustainable way forward in line with best practice. This included design proposals for a new collections centre and the redevelopment of the City Museum within the Grade II* Listed Old Town Hall. This appointment was a continuation of our consultancy work for the City, since 2011, to make the museums service a prime contributor to Lancaster's future economic growth and cultural wealth.
